A website to help businesses compete for more than £1 billion of public and private sector contracts has been launched. The Glasgow Business Portal will allow firms to bid for work on Commonwealth Games schemes, the new south Glasgow Hospital, the first phase of Glasgow School of Art’s Garnethill campus redevelopment, the shopping and flats complex opposite Buchanan Galleries and Strathclyde University’s technology and innovation centre.
Many more projects will become available through the website. Examples of goods work and service opportunities on offer through the business portal.
Firms that wish to be considered must pre-
‘Business readiness’ questionnaire. You will then be sent an automatic alert when a suitable contract opportunity is posted.
Glasgow City Council leader Gordon Matheson said: “ I urge businesses and organisations to register as this will be the only way to compete for this range of opportunities.”
